Get ready for adventures and fun this summer as we start the "Have Book-Will Travel" Summer Reading Program. Register for the program at the library, on the bookmobile, or online with your library card on Monday, June 3 - Wednesday, July 31.
Business Center Converting to Small Computer Lab
Due to increased popularity in programs requiring computers, the library is excited to announce that we will be providing a Small Computer Lab. The lab will be used specifically for test proctoring, one-on-one training, and programs requiring computer access. We are looking forward to providing training and educational opportunities for our patrons in this revamped space.
In order to provide these new services, the Business Center will close on April 29 and will re-open soon after as the Small Computer Lab. Use of the new area will be available by registering for training opportunities. Patrons who formerly used this space as the Business Center will be able to use the computers in the large Computer Commons area on the 2nd floor. Most of the software used in the Business Center will be available on the Studio 300 computers. Patrons are still able to fax by using the Simple Scans located on the 2nd and 3rd floors. The typewriter will also be available upon request from staff for use in the study rooms.
The Small Computer Lab will also temporarily house Studio 300 programming while Studio 300 is being repaired from the flood damage. Please check our events calendar for information about programs in the Small Computer Lab.
Temporary Studio 300 Space Offers Exciting Services and Programs
The Studio 300 space in the lower level of the library is currently being repaired from the damage incurred from the April flooding. However, Fountaindale is excited to continue to offer many Studio 300 services and programs in the meantime.
The Quiet Reading Room, located on the third floor of the library, is now the temporary Studio 300 space. The Mac computer stations are set-up and our knowledgeable staff will continue to host programs and one-on-one training. Patrons can continue to learn about the video equipment with our “mini” TV studio. We have a TriCaster, cameras, and a portable green screen set-up so patrons can gain experience and be ready to use the video recording studios in Studio 300. Digital transfers of slides/photos, LPs, and VHS tapes will also be available. The 3D printer will be available to patrons as well as standard black and white and color printing. A large variety of equipment can also be checked out for a three-day period. We are continuing to schedule orientation sessions as well.
Our new Small Computer Lab, located on the third floor next to the Quiet Reading Room, will also be used for many of the Studio 300 programs. Popular programs like Making Music in Studio 300 and Photo Organization and Manipulation will continue to be offered to patrons.
