New Library Logo Revealed
The new logo was designed by local graphic artist Carol Gundersen and winner of our 2009 logo design contest. Her rendition of a stylized book and leaf was chosen as the best artistic expression of the "library in a park" theme of the new library slated to open in early 2011.

Staff Inservice - Library Closed on Thursday, March 18
Board meeting at 7 p.m. in Bolingbrook
The Fountaindale Public Libraries in Bolingbrook and Romeoville will be closed on Thursday, March 18, 2010 for a staff inservice. The library will be open to the public for the regular Library Board of Trustees Meeting that evening 7 p.m. in Bolingbrook. However, no library services will be provided that night.
The library will reopen on Friday, March 19, 2010 at 9:00 a.m.

Construction Update:

The shorings have been removed from the first floor South, the children's area. Framing has also begun on the south side so it is possible to visualize the windows for the department.
From outside, you can also see the sloped roof taking shape. Inside, the ceiling height on the third floor will follow the sloping roof giving a feel of space and light.
Our last concrete pour is scheduled for the first week of March (weather permitting) when the roof level on the North side will be poured.
Delivery of the air handling units (AHU's) is also scheduled for the first week of March. These are large units and it will be interesting to see the crane setting these into place in the building. There are three air handling units, with one located in the basement and two on the second floor.
Currently, the only access to the 2nd and 3rd floors is by ladders. Stair installation begins next week.
Our project has encountered some weather days but basically we are on schedule.
