Fax, Scan, Print or Use a Computer

Using a Library ChromebookPrinting

A printer is available on the 2nd Floor in the Computer Commons. Children needing to print something may use the computers and printer in the Children's Department. Teens may use the computers and printer in the Vortex, provided they have a Vortex Membership Card.

For those utilizing the library's wireless network, or wish to print something from home and pick it up, the library has an Internet based printing solution.

Wi-Fi Printing

Print jobs utilizing this service go to the printer located on the 2nd Floor in the Computer Commons. Prints are held in the print queue for up to four hours. Credit cards now accepted at the print release station located in the 2nd floor Computer Commons. (Please note: a temporary $5 authorization will be placed when your credit card is swiped.)

Black & white prints/copies: $0.10 per 8.5 x 11”, 8.5 x 14” or 11 x 17” page on standard paper
Color prints/copies: $0.25 per 8.5 x 11”. 8.5 x 14” or 11 x 17” on standard paper

Two self-serve fax units are available, one on the 2nd Floor and one on the 3rd Floor. The units are located behind the Information Desk on each floor. Cost is $1 per page, credit cards now accepted. (Please note: a temporary $10 authorization will be placed when your credit card is swiped.) Units can send faxes for the same cost to locations in the United States, Canada and internationally. E-mail confirmation only, there is no way to get a print confirmation.


Two self-service scanners are available that can send to e-mail or save to USB flash drive. One scan unit is on the 2nd Floor in the Computer Commons area, the other is on the 3rd Floor behind the service desk and also serves as the fax station on that floor. The 2nd Floor scanner has a flatbed scanner as well as a document scanner. The 3rd Floor unit only has a document scanner. There is no cost to scan items.

Who Can Have a Library Card?

Fountaindale Public Library cards are available free of charge to Bolingbrook residents who live in the Fountaindale Public Library District upon presentation of (2) two forms of identification that show your current Bolingbrook address within the district boundaries. One form of identification should be a photo ID. Please click here for a full list of acceptable forms.

How Do I Know if I Live in the District?

Your property tax bill is the ultimate guide as to your residency in the Fountaindale Public Library District. If you have questions about your tax bill or regarding District residency, please contact the Will County Clerk at 815-740-4615, or the DuPage County Election Commission at 630-407-5600. For a map to help make an approximate determination of District residency, click here. The Will County Clerk also offers an online Precinct Lookup that will show if your precinct includes Fountaindale under Elected Officials (Special Districts).

Applying for a Library Card

Please stop by one of the Circulation desks on the first floor and complete an application. You can also register for a library card on the Bookmobile. For your convenience, you can fill in and download the application below:

To start the registration process online, visit our online catalog and from the My Account drop down menu, select Login / Register, then click on Register Now. For more detailed instructions on how to do this, click here. Please note: registering online will provide you with a temporary card number that can be used to place holds on items, but you must complete the registration process and obtain a permanent Fountaindale Public Library card by coming to the library and visiting one of the Circulation desks on the first floor.

Renewing Your Library Card

Your card does not expire, however you will need to verify your address every three years. Simply bring your current Fountaindale Public Library card in addition to a photo ID to one of the Circulation desks on the first floor. Please click here for a full list of acceptable forms.

A one year address check is needed for businesses, property owners, and teachers.

Report a Lost Library Card

If you have lost your Fountaindale Library card, please contact us immediately. We will block your account until you come in to set-up a replacement card. There is no charge for a replacement card. You will be responsible for any materials checked out on a lost card that is not reported. The Circulation Department can be reached directly at 630-759-2102.




Reserve a Meeting Room

The library has four meeting rooms available to Fountaindale card holders. In order to reserve a room, you must read through the Meeting Room Policy and agree to the conditions. Contact a staff member with any questions at 630-685-4204 or meetingrooms [at]

Pay Fines

Loan periods for Fountaindale materials are typically for a three (3) week period.

Our Gaming Collection circulates for a seven (7) day period.

Single disc movies and television shows on DVD & BluRay DVD circulate for a seven (7) day period.

Complete seasons of television shows - sets that need to be checked out at a service desk - circulate for a three (3) week period.

Studio 300 equipment circulates out of the library for a three (3) day period. Studio 300 equipment to be used only in the library circulates for a four (4) hour period.

Nook e-readers circulate for a three (3) week period.

Overdue Fines fines

Fountaindale Library has a one (1) day Grace Period during which no overdue fines will be assessed. Grace periods and renewals are not applicable to Studio 300 equipment.

All Books, Magazines, Puppets, Puzzles, Audiovisual materials such as DVDs, Blu-Rays, Audio Books, Music CDs, Playaways, etc.

The maximum fine charges listed above do not limit the total charge for an item if the item is lost or damaged.

Collection Limits

Fountaindale currently has a limit of ten (10) items from the following Audio-Visual collections to be checked out on a patron's card at one time:

  • Adult DVDs, music CDs, audio books & Playaways
  • Childrens DVDs, music CDs, audio books & Playaways


Our Gaming Collection has a limit of three (3) items per card.

Studio 300 equipment is limited Fountaindale Public Library card holders only and to five (5) pieces of equipment per card.

Paying Fines

Fines can be paid with credit/debit card, cash or check at the Main Circulation desk in the first floor lobby, and by credit/debit card at one of the thirteen self check units throughout the library. Payments can also be made through our online catalog or mobile app by logging into your library account, clicking "My Account" and clicking "Fines & Fees". Help for paying through the online catalog is available in both English and Spanish, and in the video below.

Return and Renew Materials

Renewing Materials

Library materials can typically be renewed twice. Any pending holds on an item will prohibit renewals. Interlibrary loans, e-readers, and Studio 300 equipment cannot be renewed.

You can renew materials in the following ways:

  • Contact the Circulation Department directly by calling 630-759-2102
  • Online by logging into Pinnacle under "My Account"
  • Stop by the Circulation Desk at the library
  • Call the automated renewal number at 815-740-0978
  • Visit the Bookmobile
  • Use a Self-Check station in the library
  • Use the library mobile app

Returning Materials

Library materials borrowed from the Fountaindale Public Library (including the Bookmobile) may be returned at any public library. Materials can be returned to the Bookmobile, a book drop, the drive-thru, the lobby return inside the building by the holds pickup area, or the Circulation Desk. If you return materials outside of the Pinnacle Library Cooperative, please be aware that these items will not be removed from your account until they reach us. PLEASE NOTE: ereaders and Studio 300 equipment must be returned to the checkout desk where the material was provided. The black Fountaindale canvas bags should NOT be returned through the drive-thru or automated return in the lobby. Please return bags to staff or book drops.


Library Book Drop Locations

The library offers four drop locations where patrons can return materials 24 hours a day. There is a book drop to the left of our front doors. Our newest book drop is in the library parking lot next to the drive-thru. Our other book drops are located at Ashburys, 355 E. Boughton Road in Bolingbrook and on the West Side at First Presbyterian Church, 180 N. Weber Road, across from Meijer. Materials from off-site drops are collected and brought back to the library daily.

Looking for a convenient way to retrieve your materials on hold? Use our drive-thru pick-up window! Please call 630-759-2102 at least an hour ahead of your arrival to make sure all your materials are ready.

Pick-up of material is available during the hours the library is open.
