Q: Who can participate in the Teen Summer Reading program?
A: Teens entering 6th grade up through 12th grade may participate in the program. You must have a valid Fountaindale Public Library card to register.
Q: What can I read for the Teen Summer Reading Program?
A: Read whatever you want— books, magazines, newspapers, graphic novels! Like listening to audiobooks or playaways? Those count, too!
Q: How does the program work?
A: The teen summer reading program is based on how many hours you read. Earn a free paperback after logging 15 hours and a second paperback at 30 hours. There will be prize drawings for $25 gift certificates to Borders, Best Buy, and Target. Every teen that completes 15 hours of reading will go into our grand prize drawing for an iPod Nano, courtesy of the Friends of the Library.
Review a book or graphic novel to enter our weekly drawing to win a $10 Border's gift card.
Q: Where do I pick up my free paperback book?
A: You may pick up your free paperback books at the Readers’ Service desk or on the Bookmobile.
Q: How do I enter the prize drawings?
A: You are automatically entered into the prize drawings when you log your hours and/or reviews online. If you choose to keep a paper record of your reading time, please see a staff member for assistance in logging your hours.

Our weekly review prize drawings will take place on: June 21, June 28, *July 6, July 12, July 19, July 26, August 2, August 9, and August 16.
A staff member will contact you by phone or email. You may pick up your prizes at the Adult Services’ desk or the Bookmobile.
Q: How do I log my hours?
A: Sign up online at http://www.fountaindale.org/calendar/summer-reading-program.html. You will only be able to log a maximum of five hours once a day. You may keep a paper record of your reading time and ask a staff member for assistance in logging your hours.
Q: I created an account, now what?
A: Once you have created an account, sign in with your username and password. Then you need to click on Add/View Log. Select the Quantity of hours from the drop down menu. You are only able to log a maximum of five hours once a day. You can also submit a review. Click on the gray bar that says, “Click here to enter your review.”
Q: Why can’t I see my review?
A: All reviews are submitted to staff for approval. The approval process may take a day or two, so please be patient. To ensure that your review is approved, please keep your language G-rated.
