Always Bring Your Card
In an effort to step up security on library accounts, each library cardholder is now required to bring his or her physical library card to the library. As of July 1, 2013, checkouts will no longer be allowed using photo IDs or driver's licenses or by typing one's card number into self-checks.
Your PIN is Important
Please take a moment to log into Your Account online to change your PIN number to your library card. This numeric PIN is the password to your card which, like a debit card, allows access to checkouts and to access or change personal information. It is very important that each cardholder update his or her PIN regularly, and especially if this PIN hasn't been updated in over one year. If you wish to change your PIN with the help of library staff, please bring in your library card and Photo ID and we will be happy to assist you! PIN numbers can not be changed over the phone.
Smile for the Camera
Please visit the Information Desk in the lobby with a picture ID and your library card to take a photograph to add to your account in our library software. Adding a photograph to your library account significantly increases the security on your account transactions conducted with library staff at Pinnacle libraries. Pictures of children (under age 16) will not be taken unless a parent or guardian is present with a picture ID, and all library cards are presented. Please note, photographs are required for all new cardholders, for linking your accounts together, for use of Studio 300 rooms or equipment, and for checking out Nooks.
The Benefits of Linking Accounts
Parents of children (under age 16) or two adults (ages 16 and up) may now link library accounts! This service allows your family members or close associates to link to your account to pick up your holds, pay fines, and access your account information. Linking accounts is now required for anyone who is using another person's card.
In order to sign up for linked accounts, visit a Circulation staff member and bring your library card, a photo ID, and the people you wish to link to. Everyone will need to present library cards, pieces of identification and people you wish to link to you. Please note that photographs are required for this service.
General checkout is not permitted when presenting a library card that is not yours, and is limited to holds pickup only.
