About the Vortex

What happens in the Vortex?

The Vortex

The Vortex is the library’s teen space for teens in grades 6 through 12. Teens may use this space for general reading, studying, or just hanging out! With a Vortex card, School ID, or library card, teens may also utilize the other special features including the Teen Computer Lab and Open Video Game Play. Programs are also offered throughout the year including movie afternoons, crafts and so much more!

Who can use the Vortex?

The Vortex is a unique space that has been specifically designed for teens! Other library patrons may browse the space when they require access to collections only available in the Vortex but may not remain in the room.

Teens can use the Teen Computer Lab and gaming systems during Open Video Game Play by presenting a library card, school ID, or Vortex card. Library cards can be used to register for programs.

Vortex staff can be reached at 630-685-4199 or fountaindaleteen [at] fountaindale.org.
