What is the Coretta Scott King Book Award?

The Coretta Scott King Book Awards honor authors and illustrators who have created books that continue the important work of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and his wife, Coretta Scott King. These books inspire young readers to carry on the Kings’ beliefs about universal human values and teach an appreciation of African American culture.
