Bolingbrook elementary school students, are you ready to rock? Beginning Tuesday, October 1, read and log to help your school win the Rockin’ Reading Race! The three schools with the most minutes read will win a collection of this year’s Monarch & Bluestem Award nominees! All schools that participate will win a collection of STEAM/STEM books.
How to Participate:
Simply read for 300 minutes during the month of October. Any form of reading counts!
Reading independently at home or school
Reading during classroom read-alouds, reading time or visits from our Book Talkers
Reading to someone or listening to a story
Listening to a Playaway or audiobook
Pick up a paper reading log from your teacher beginning Tuesday, October 1. Write your library card number on your paper log to receive 30 bonus minutes (you may only receive this bonus one time during the race)!
Please return your paper log to your teacher by Friday, November 1 to have your minutes counted toward your class total. If you read for 300 minutes, you’ll earn a certificate, pencil, sticker and voucher good for a free slice of Portillo’s cake. The three schools with the most minutes read will win a collection of this year’s Monarch & Bluestem Award nominees!
Congratulations to St. Dominic School, our 2018 1st place winner.
