2023 Great Reading Race
Bolingbrook middle school students, read to earn books for your school media center and classroom and prizes for yourself by joining the Great Reading Race from Monday, September 25 through Monday, October 30!
How to Participate
- Beginning Monday, September 25, register for the Great Reading Race.
- Track your reading from Monday, September 25 through Monday, October 30. Please only log reading completed during the program timeframe. Reading books, eBooks and listening to audiobooks count.
- Log the number of minutes read during independent reading time at home and school and during classroom read-alouds or stories read as a class.
Prizes
- You can earn vouchers for free items from our sponsors when you reach 200, 400, 600 and 800 minutes, while supplies last, and a free paperback book when you reach 1000 minutes.
- Use your points to buy entries for our grand prize drawings. Each entry costs 100 points, so you can buy an entry for every 100 minutes you log, up to 10 entries.
- This year, our grand prizes are $50 Target gift cards and tote bags filled with books. We will randomly select one winner for each prize at each school.
- The three middle schools in Bolingbrook with the most minutes read will win a paperback book collection for their library media center.
First Place: 35 Books
Second Place: 25 Books
Third Place: 15 Books
- The top classroom at each school will receive a gift card for a class party and a collection of 10 paperback books.
