All summer long, we’re offering film-focused classes for you to stretch your skills as you work on your own short film to submit to the competition. Don’t forget to utilize Studio 300’s extensive equipment and software collection to create your own movie magic.

Introduction to Screenwriting

Learn the basics of writing for the screen. You’ll be introduced to a few programs that can help format your writing in screenplay format, and learn a few tips on how to translate the pacing of the written word to the screen. Drop in.

Video Gear Tech Zoo
Wednesday, June 17, 6:30–8 p.m.
Take a tour of our video equipment collection and learn everything Studio 300 has to offer for your video production needs. You’ll be able to explore and ask questions in this live demo class. Drop in.

Storyboarding for Filmmakers
Thursday, July 16, 7 p.m.
Learn to use storyboards and shot lists to plan and shoot your film! No prior drawing experience required. Registration required.

Cut to the Beat
Tuesday, July 21, 7 p.m.
Learn the basics of video editing in Premiere Pro and how to cut to the beat of the music to make your short film dynamic and engaging. Registration required.

From Timeline to Silver Screen
Tuesday, August 11, 7 p.m.
Learn some basics in taking a final look at audio levels and image/color editing before exporting your film from Premiere. Also, learn an overview of exporting: ideal settings for YouTube or the big screen. Registration required.

ShortHaus Cinema Presents: Short Film Competition Screening
