As The Die Cuts – January 2020, Fountaindale Public Library

Attention teachers and youth leaders! Did you know the Children’s Services Department has an Ellison Die Cut machine available for you to complete special projects and bulletin boards? All you have to provide is the paper and the manpower! Please ask our staff to familiarize you with our die presses.

I hope you are all having a wonderful holiday season! As you get ready for the kids to come back to school after break, you might be planning some January or winter projects:

  • We have a Martin Luther King Jr. silhouette you can use to celebrate his birthday on January 20th. You can find that under Holidays & Celebrations.
  • We also have numerous winter themed dies from snowflakes to snowmen. Please look for them under Nature & Outdoors.

This month I want to feature some new dies in our collection, which we received in a patron donation. These dies are more themed around Holidays & Celebrations and most will be found in that collection. There are some more circles, hearts and squares, along with more flower designs, butterflies and dragonflies.

Here’s a fun video I found on Ellison’s website that shows how your students can make some cute animals with just circles and toilet paper tubes.

Is there is a theme or project you would like assistance with? Email me, the Ellison expert, at any time. You can request any of the designs from our Ellison collection, just be sure you complete our request form at least 36 hours before you plan to visit. This ensures we’ll have the machine and dies ready for you.
