As the Die Cuts – November 2019, Fountaindale Public Library

Attention teachers and youth leaders! Did you know the Children’s Services Department has an Ellison Die Cut machine available for you to complete special projects and bulletin boards? All you have to provide is the paper and the manpower! Please ask our staff to familiarize you with our die presses.

As November begins, the weather is turning colder and the promise of snow is in the air. The smell of burning leaves and backyard barbecues bring back childhood memories as people begin to clear their fields in preparation for winter. Here are some ideas for November projects you can share in your classrooms:

  • Veterans Day is Monday, November 11. Help your students thank those who served in the armed forces to preserve our way of life in America with our flag, eagle, Statue of Liberty, scroll or star dies.
  • For general fall projects, we have lots of leaves, trees and an acorn die.
  • Add some pumpkins from our selection of pumpkin dies and make a festive holiday display.
  • And don’t forget Thanksgiving! We have a turkey die that can be made to stand up on its own to use for name tags for your students’ desks.

Is there is a theme or project you would like assistance with? Contact Susan, our Ellison expert at any time. You can request any of the designs from our Ellison collection. Just be sure you complete our request form at least 36 hours before you plan to visit. This ensures we’ll have the machine and dies ready for you.
