This year, the Friends of Fountaindale Library celebrated their 45th Anniversary! The Friends of Fountaindale Library are a group of volunteers who advocate for library services, programs and needs. For almost five decades, they’ve provided monetary support to our library through sales in the Book Nook, Book Cellar and biannual book sales, which help fund new programs, services and materials for our visitors to enjoy, including:

  • Ice cream for our annual Ice Cream Social
  • Summer Adventure prizes
  • Great Reading Race and Read-a-Palooza prizes
  • 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten prizes
  • Winter Reading Challenge prizes
  • Rolling carts for our Library Express Van

Each October, we celebrate National Friends of Libraries Week to honor and recognize how the Friends’ time and commitment to our library set an example for all, showing how volunteerism leads to positive civic engagement and the betterment of our community. Their work highlights that our library is a community hub, providing opportunities for all to engage in the joy of lifelong learning and connect with the thoughts and ideas of others. This year, they’re adding a little something extra to the fun.
