Children’s Services Construction (Spring 2026)
We’re building a better children’s area! The east side of our Children’s Services department will be under construction from Friday, April 3, through Monday, May 18. We will be replacing our shelving to be more accessible, browsable and height-appropriate for our youngest visitors.
During this project, the following collections and areas will be unavailable:
Collections:
- Picture Books
- Easy Reader Books
- Children’s Movies & Music
- Audiobooks, Playaways & Read-alongs
- Magazines
- SteamBoxes
Areas:
- Baby Park (Play House)
- Creativity Park (Craft Table)
- East Study Room
Please stay tuned to this webpage for the most current information.
Enjoy Longer Checkouts
To help you and your children continue to read while we’re under construction, we are extending checkout times for impacted materials. From Monday, March 23, through Thursday, April 2, all of the materials listed above will be loaned out for six weeks (42 days) instead of our normal 21 days. We encourage you to come in and borrow as much as you can enjoy!
If you need assistance getting materials during construction, please contact a staff member, and we can help you secure items from other libraries.
Children’s Events
Storytimes will continue to be held in the Storytime Room. Events previously scheduled to be held in Creativity Park have been relocated. Please see our events calendar for the most up-to-date event information.
Visit the Bookmobile
The Bookmobile is a full-service mobile branch of our library where you can check out a wide selection of books, movies and music for all ages. Our dedicated Outreach Services team provides scheduled stops around the community that are open to the public. They even hold community storytimes around town that are perfect for children ages 2–6. Be sure to visit the Bookmobile for all your library needs!
