You might be surprised at all the fascinating things you can do here at your library, so get your library card now, and see what we have to offer!
1. Subscribe to Your Favorite Author
Do you read every book your favorite author releases? Whether it’s Frida McFadden, Rebecca Yarros, Brandon Sanderson, Riley Sager or almost anyone in between, sign up for Hold, Please!, our new release auto-hold subscription service where we automatically place holds for you on the newest books by your favorite authors.
2. Get Free or Discounted Museum Passes
Does your family enjoy visiting Brookfield Zoo, Cantigny Park and Chicago Botanic Garden? How about visiting them for free or at a discounted price? With our Museum Adventure Pass, you can do just that! Simply stop by the Circulation Desk to check out a pass using your library card. Passes are first-come, first-served as there is a limited number of passes for each participating organization.
3. Digitize Your Home Movies in Studio 300
Do you have a pile of VHS tapes (or even 8mm film) full of memories like your wedding or baby’s first step? How about old photos, negative or even slides? Visit Studio 300 to use our VHS to DVD converter and photo scanner to digitize and preserve your memories before the ravishes of time deteriorate these media types of yesteryear. You must complete Studio 300 orientation prior to using this service.
4. Earn Trading Cards for Reading
Take flight as you earn unique trading cards and battle your friends with Reading Dragons & Friends. This exciting reading program for children in grades K–5 rewards kids with high-quality trading cards for reading. The more you read, the more cards you earn!
5. Get Your High School Diploma
We are proud to offer district residents ages 19 and older the opportunity to earn a free, accredited online high school diploma through Career Online High School. Since 2014, we’ve had more than 30 graduates successfully complete the program and go on to pursue exciting careers. We were even the first library in Illinois, and only the third in the country, to offer this program. If you’re ready to take your education to the next level, you need not look farther than your library.
