Calling all crafty teens! Our databases are not just for school research projects. Did you know we have amazing databases that provide instructions for many different crafts? To access our databases and other eResources, you’ll need a library card. Every year, we issue Student Success library cards to all Valley View students. These cards provide the same access to materials and services as a regular Fountaindale Library card.

If you have never checked out Creativebug or Hobbies & Crafts Source, now is your chance. We’ll have a special take-home craft kit just for teens available on the Bookmobile in September and November. The best part is, you don’t need a library card to pick one up! Just show up at any of our community Bookmobile stops and ask for a craft kit. Each kit will include the supplies needed for the craft, along with instructions for accessing the database.

Make sure to put it on your calendar. Kits are available while supplies last!

September: Hanging Planter

In September, you can get a kit to make a cute air plant hanger using instructions from Creativebug. Creativebug has thousands of video tutorials on a range of topics for every occasion, including yarn, sewing, quilting, needlework, art & design, paper, jewelry, food and more.

November: Paper Beads

In November, you can get a kit to make paper beads using the Hobbies & Crafts Source database. Hobbies & Crafts Source has instructions and videos on a wide range of topics, including arts & crafts, cooking & baking, home & garden, indoor recreation, needlecrafts & textiles, outdoor recreation, performing arts and science & technology.
