As of April 27th, the Small Business Administration is taking new applications for the Paycheck Protection Program. If you or someone you know is a small business owner who is struggling to keep their employees, do not hesitate to apply. This will only be available for a limited time so please apply as soon as possible.

In new local support, Layoff to Watch from workNet DuPage provides up to $10,000 in grant funds towards skill training to laid-off workers. There is also a weekly webinar series explaining the program along with other assistance measures.

workNet DuPage also just launched a grant program that is accepting applications until Wednesday, May 6th that can provide $5,000–50,000 in funds for businesses for various costs (other than payroll or benefits). See the application and submit to worknet-layoffprev@worknetdupage.org.

If you have questions, please contact Lisa Schvach, Executive, DuPage County Workforce Development Division at workNet DuPage Career Center directly at 630-450-0417 or lschvach@worknetdupage.org.
