Take Our Audio Art Tour, Fountaindale Public Library

As a community center, we believe art—like information—should be accessible to everyone. If you’ve ever wondered about the original artworks in our building, you can now learn about each piece with our audio art tour! On the tour, you will journey through three floors of our building while listening to many of the artists speak about their art and how it was created in their own words.

To take the art tour, simply download the free Otocast app from the Apple Store or Google Play Store. When you are inside the building, open the app and walk up to any one of our 12 art pieces featured on the tour. The app will automatically start playing when you are within three feet of the art piece. The app will also show you a photo of the art, its location and more information about it. In the app, the tour is arranged to begin with the art in our lobby, then the 2nd floor and finally the 3rd floor, but you can take it in any order you wish. We recommend that you please bring headphones to enjoy the tour without disturbing any other visitors.

If you are unable to come to our building, you can still access the tour from anywhere. Simply open the app and click on the photo of each piece to listen to the audio narrative. You can also access the tour from a web browser, but you must use the Otocast app in order for it to autoplay when you are near an art piece inside our building.

Finally, the Otocast app also gives you access to many other public art tours, both locally and from around the country, including the St. Charles Art in Public Places tour, Aurora Public Art tour, Chicago Art Loop tour and many more. Download the Otocast app today, and stop by to immerse yourself in this unique art experience!
