Can’t get to the library? We are where you are! Our Bookmobile is a full-service mobile branch of our library that provides scheduled stops around the community at convenient locations such as Target, IKEA, Best Buy and The Promenade. At our Bookmobile, you can:
- Sign up for a library card.
- Check out popular materials for all ages, including regular and large print books, audiobooks, movies and video games.
- Check out memory care kits, Wi-Fi hotspots and Rokus.
- Speak with an outreach staff member for reading recommendations, reference services and more.
- Return and renew library materials.
- Pick up your holds.
Also, every month we provide a different program on the Bookmobile. So join us this summer for activities and prizes for the whole family. We hope to see you soon on the Bookmobile!
June: We Love Summer Audiobooks
Are you planning a summer road trip or a hike around the neighborhood? How about relaxing with some lemonade at the beach? Stop by the Bookmobile before you go and pick up a Playaway audiobook or Kindle Fire preloaded with books to enjoy during your summer plans. Before you leave, add your name to our We Love Audiobooks display and pick up a refreshing summer treat!
You can also visit our website to download the Libby, hoopla and Axis 360 apps to access thousands of audiobooks right from your smart device. And as a bonus, they also count toward your Summer Adventure points!
July: Fishing Fun Scavenger Hunt
Summer is a great time to have fun fishing at your local pond, lake or even the Bookmobile! Yes, you read that correctly. This month you can come to the Bookmobile and “go fishing” for a hidden fish, frog and dragonfly to win a prize. We’ll also have fish trivia, coloring sheets, books on fishing and a fishing pole giveaway! And when you’re ready to head to the lake, remember to check out Hidden Lakes Trout Farm right here in Bolingbrook. We can’t wait to hear your fish story!
August: Have S’more Camping Fun
What’s your favorite part about camping? Do you like sleeping under the stars, hiking or maybe making s’mores? Visit the Bookmobile this August for all kinds of camping fun as we celebrate National S’more Day (Thursday, August 10)! We’ll have stargazing stickers, a seek-and-find hiking activity, camping crafts and a s’mores basket giveaway. So hike on over to the Bookmobile for s’more camping fun!
