Winter is the absolute best time to read! Nothing beats cozying up under a warm blanket with a delicious cup of coffee (or hot chocolate) and an amazing book. The only thing that could make it better is getting rewarded for your reading!
Join us for our Winter Reading Challenge from Monday, January 12, through Saturday, February 28. We have a challenge for adults, teens and kids so everyone in your family can enjoy the fun. Remember, any reading counts—books, eBooks, audiobooks, graphic novels, manga, etc. You must be a Fountaindale Public Library cardholder to participate.
Adult Winter Reading
Read or listen for 500 minutes—that’s just 12 minutes a day! You can win weekly giveaways and even our grand prize. All participants who read at least 500 minutes will be entered into the grand prize drawing.
For questions, please contact Adult Services at 630.685.4176 or programming@fountaindale.org.
Teen Winter Reading (Grades 6–12)
Teens in grades 6–12, read or listen for 360 minutes—that’s just an hour a week—and reading for school counts, too! Earn one point for every minute you read, and then use those points to enter one of our grand prize drawings. All participants who log 360 minutes earn a free book.
For questions, please contact Teen Services at 630.685.4199 or fountaindaleteen@fountaindale.org.
Children’s Winter Reading (Age 0–Grade 5)
Challenge yourself this winter, and resolve to read! Pick up a game board from the Children’s Service Desk or Bookmobile, and complete challenge activities that allow you to move forward on the game board. You will earn a small prize when you’ve made it halfway. Make it all the way around the game board to get a special completion prize and a voucher for a free book from the Friends Book Cellar.
