This summer, the Bookmobile is rolling out the red carpet for celebrity book club picks! From Oprah’s favorites to Reese Witherspoon’s picks, these books will spark conversation and deepen your reading experience. Come aboard and find your next star-powered read!

Oprah’s Book Club

Oprah’s Book Club is one of the most influential and long-running celebrity book clubs. It was launched by Oprah Winfrey in 1996 as part of The Oprah Winfrey Show. Oprah chooses books that explore emotional, social and moral themes—often powerful novels or memoirs that inspire discussion and personal growth. I recently read The Tell, a memoir by Amy Griffin, and was deeply moved by the author’s experience with trauma, grief and the power of finally telling her truth.

Here are more book suggestions from Oprah’s Book Club that you can find on the Bookmobile.

Book cover of "Tell Me Everything" by Elizabeth Strout featuring two birds on a branch, yellow polka dots, and an Oprah’s Book Club badge.

Tell Me Everything by Elizabeth Strout

With her “extraordinary capacity for radical empathy” (The Boston Globe), remarkable insight into the human condition, and silences that contain multitudes, Elizabeth Strout returns to the town of Crosby, Maine, and to her beloved cast of characters as they deal with a shocking crime in their midst; fall in love and yet choose to be apart; and grapple with the question, as Lucy Barton puts it: What does anyone’s life mean?

Book cover of "The Many Lives of Mama Love" by Lara Love Hardin, featuring a bird silhouette and accolades including "Oprah's Book Club 2024" and "New York Times Bestseller.

New York Times bestselling author Lara Love Hardin recounts her slide from soccer mom to opioid addict to jailhouse shot-caller and her unlikely comeback as a highly successful ghostwriter in this harrowing, hilarious, no-holds-barred memoir

Reese’s Book Club

Reese’s picks often celebrate women’s voices in literature—bold, complex and unforgettable. One of my all-time favorite reads, Where the Crawdads Sing by Delia Owens, is a Reese’s Book Club pick. I was deeply moved by this novel’s portrayal of a strong yet vulnerable woman who finds resilience and beauty in isolation. It’s a story that stayed with me long after I turned the last page. These next two books that you can find on the Bookmobile also explore strong female characters, their personal transformation and the complexities of navigating life’s challenges.

The book cover for "Great Big Beautiful Life" by Emily Henry features large white text on an orange and pink patterned background with illustrations of a woman and man sitting and reading.

Read with Jenna

If you’re a fan of diverse and thought-provoking books, the #ReadWithJenna book club is another great option to explore! I have to be honest, though—I’ve yet to read a book featured in the Read with Jenna Book Club myself, but it’s definitely on my radar!

Book cover for "The Dream Hotel" by Laila Lalami, featuring a small figure at the edge of a dark tunnel on a blue background. The cover includes a "Read with Jenna" badge.

GMA Book Club

What I love about the Good Morning America (GMA) Book Club is its variety! It features a mix of fiction and nonfiction—from gripping mysteries and heart-pounding thrillers to moving historical fiction and more. Did you know that The Last Thing He Told Me by Laura Dave, The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo by Taylor Jenkins Reid, and Anxious People by Fredrik Backman were all GMA Book Club picks? If you enjoyed those, you’ll want to check out these other fantastic reads—available now on the Bookmobile!

Fallon Book Club

The Fallon Book Club, featured on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, offers a unique and engaging approach to book selection. Typically, Fallon announces a selection of books and encourages his viewers to vote for their favorite. The winning book becomes the club’s official read. Here are some recent selections that you can check out on the Bookmobile.

Sarah Jessica Parker’s SJP Picks

Even though I work in a library, I was surprised to learn that Sarah Jessica Parker’s SJP Picks is a collaboration with the American Library Association (ALA). This collaboration not only promotes great literature but also reinforces the vital role libraries play in connecting communities through books.

Book cover of "Black Cake" by Charmaine Wilkerson featuring abstract colorful shapes forming a face, with a sticker indicating a "Read with Jenna" book club selection.
