Día de los Niños Celebration 2022

El Día de los Niños/El Día de los Libros (Children’s Day/Book Day), commonly known as Día, is a nationally recognized celebration that emphasizes the importance of literacy for children of all linguistic and cultural backgrounds. It is a commitment to linking children and their families to the world of books while nurturing cognitive and literacy development in ways that honor and embrace a child’s home language and culture. Join us from April 25 through April 30 for a week of fun!

Paint your very own ceramic owl to store pencils, plant a flower or anything else you would like to display.

DIY Picture Book (In person) R

Create a customized picture book using watercolor, color pencils and other mixed media materials inspired by the Mexican illustrator Sara Palacios.

Take-It Make-It: Nicho Box

Craft a 3D box inspired by Mexican folk art and the mixed media creations of artists like Betye Saar, Joseph Cornell and Renée Stout. Pick up a kit at the Children’s Services Desk, while supplies last.
