WHAT IS HAPPENING?
Our Adult Fiction collection will have limited availability from Friday, July 19 through Sunday, July 21 as we organize the collection into genres. Most of this work will happen outside our normal hours, but our staff will be busy in the Adult Fiction section most of the day Friday and until about 1 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
We will do our best to minimize the disturbance, but there will be an increase in activity and noise on the 3rd floor during the project. There will also be additional carts and dollies out on the floor while we are working.
ACCESS DURING PROJECT
You will still have access to the Adult Fiction collection during this project, but it might be difficult to find some titles. If that’s the case, you can speak to our staff at the 3rd Floor Service Desk and they will help you place a hold on the item.
Please note, during this project our staff will not be shelving newly returned items from the Adult Fiction collection, and we won’t be pulling items to fill holds.
Our digital collection is not impacted by this project, so you can still access those titles without a problem.
WHY ORGANIZE BY GENRE?
Currently, our Adult Fiction books are labeled with different genres like mystery and science fiction. However, the books are all filed together by the author’s last name, regardless of genre. Sorting the collection into genres will enhance your browsing experience and help you discover new titles and read-alikes.
