Commentary:

Just within the first episode, Carole and Tuesday quickly became one of my favorite animes. What first caught my eye was the Netflix trailer. It has a beautiful melody and great English voice acting, so my husband and I thought we’d give it a try. Watch the trailer below, but make sure you finish reading this post before you binge-watch the entire show. I know you’ll be tempted!

Carol and Tuesday is about two girls trying to make it big in the music industry, but there’s a twist. It takes place on Mars. MARS. HOW COOL. Sign me up on that note alone.

(As a fun fact, we found out it was created by the same person who did Cowboy Bebop, Shinichiro Watanabe. I absolutely adore Cowboy Bebop, so it was no wonder that Carole and Tuesday was of the same caliber! But you’re not here to talk about how much I love Bebop, you’re here for C&T.)

Carole and Tuesday is named after its main characters, well, Carole and Tuesday! Both are extremely likable, and they play off each other well in both their music and their daily interactions. They complete each other—the show just wouldn’t be the same without either one of them. The supporting cast is just as necessary and excellent. I wouldn’t replace a single one.

Now, the music of the show. THE MUSIC. It will be stuck in your head for days, weeks, months, years after you’ve watched this show. The downside is that there is only two seasons worth of music. I wish there was more. It is that good. Below are two of my favorite songs, one from each season.
