As the weather gets cold, we tend to spend more time inside (this year in particular), so curling up on the sofa with a Christmas movie seems perfect to me. Yes, some hot cocoa, popcorn and maybe some Christmas cookies make for a perfect night. There are so many movies to choose from and so many ways to watch, and there are some that if I don’t watch them, it just doesn’t seem like Christmas. These are just a few of my favorites, and of course you can find all of them, and more, here at the library.

Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer

When I was little, I remember watching Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer and really sympathizing with Hermey the Elf who wanted to be a dentist. I wanted to visit the Island of Misfit Toys and bring them all home!

Santa Clause is Coming to Town

Santa Clause is Coming to Town is just wonderful. I still find myself singing “Put one foot in front of the other…and soon you’ll be walking cross the floor.”

I always wanted a Charlie Brown Christmas tree just like the one in this beloved classic.

Rudolph’s Shiny New Year

I of course have to watch Rudolf’s Shiny New Year to cap off the season. The Baby New Year and his ears are just too cute!

It’s a Wonderful Life

As I’ve gotten older though, one of my favorites I have come to love is It’s a Wonderful Life. It never fails to bring tears to my eyes and put a smile in my heart. It is a family tradition to watch it at least once, if not more, every Christmas.

A Christmas Story

A Christmas Story is both a hysterically funny and touching trip down memory lane for most of us.
