Whether you’re a first-time visitor or a familiar face, we invite all children and families to join us for an exciting journey through the pages of a book. Storytimes provide many wonderful benefits for children and their families:

  • Develop early literacy and reading skills by introducing children to books, language and vocabulary.
  • Spark imagination and boost creativity through engaging stories and playful interaction.
  • Help children make sense of the world by exploring characters, emotions and different experiences through books.
  • Create opportunities for social connection as children and families interact with others in a welcoming environment.
  • And most importantly, storytime is FUN! We sing silly songs, play games, dance and laugh—all in a safe and joyful space made for learning and growing together.

In addition to storytimes in the library, we offer storytimes at several community locations, including the Bolingbrook Historical Museum, IKEA, Chick-fil-A, Wholey Granoly and Arwa Yemeni Coffee. And we just launched our newest storytime at the Illinois Aviation Museum right in the heart of Bolingbrook’s Clow International Airport!

Community storytimes are best suited for children ages 2–6, but all children are welcome to attend. All children must be accompanied by an adult. For questions, please call the Outreach Services Department at 630.685.4230. We hope to see you there!

Join us in the Swedish Restaurant for preschool stories and interactive songs. After our stories are complete, IKEA will provide milk and cookies for each child. Register at fountaindale.org/ikea or in person at each event. To register online, you must first create a free IKEA Family account.

Soar on over to the Illinois Aviation Museum for a fun and engaging plane-themed storytime. This storytime is geared towards preschoolers, but will be fun for the whole family.
