This school year will look different for a lot of students, parents and teachers. Whether your children are remote learning, hybrid learning or you’ve decided to homeschool, we have a variety of resources that can help your child on their educational journey.
Get a Library Card
The first step is to get your Fountaindale Public Library card—it’s your most important back-to-school tool! Visit our get a library card page to check that you live in our district and to download and complete our library card application. Bring your application and proof of address to our building or the Bookmobile to get your card today. We’re celebrating our 50th anniversary, so you’ll have your choice of new and exciting library card designs!
We’re Fine Free! We no longer charge daily late fines on overdue items. Even though we no longer charge late fines, we encourage you to please return materials in a responsible and timely fashion so others may enjoy the shared resources we provide.
We have an excellent variety of eResources to help your kids continue their studies at home. Whether you’re looking for online tutoring, sources for your research paper or videos on topics you’re learning in school, our tools for kids will keep them engaged and learning.

Books & Movies
Looking for books and movies? Be sure to check out our digital collection, which includes these exciting platforms and more!
Studio 300, our state-of-the-art digital media and maker lab, is full of media creation software and other resources available for our patrons to use. Studio 300 is currently open by appointment only. To make an appointment, call 630.685.4260 or email email@example.com.
In order to take advantage of Studio 300’s equipment collections, maker lab and unique, creative spaces, you must first attend our mandatory online orientation. Once completed, and after getting verification from Studio 300 staff, you can fully use all of our amazing resources. Access the virtual orientation now!
Please note, in addition to completing the orientation on their own, patrons 12–17 years of age must have a parent/guardian complete the training and also grant permission before the child/teen can access Studio 300.
Our staff has fully transitioned our events into virtual events. We offer a mix of pre-recorded videos and live Zoom events to connect with patrons. Don’t miss storytimes, book talks, puppet shows, book clubs, crafts and much more each week! Also, the Bookmobile is back to making regular community stops, so be sure to visit to get a library card and to check out and return materials. Visit our events calendar to see all of our upcoming events.
We post many of our past virtual events on our YouTube channel, so be sure to visit for added fun.

We’ve adjusted our spaces around the library to help facilitate and maintain social distancing. The Vortex, our teen space, will remain closed for the foreseeable future, but students are welcome to reserve a study room located on the 3rd floor or use any open tables located on the 2nd or 3rd floors. If you have completed Studio 300 Orientation, you can reserve a group collaboration room by contacting Studio 300 at 630.685.4260 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
We’ve also moved our Vortex collection of young adult books, audiobooks and graphic novels out onto the 2nd floor right outside of the Vortex so you can still access this collection with ease.
Our services are not just for students! Valley View teachers who teach in our district can apply for a library card and request materials for their classes, create eye-catching bulletin boards with our Ellison Dies, request our staff host a Zoom session with your class and much more. To learn more, visit our teacher services webpage.
