We’ve gone a whole year without a Marvel movie. In fact, this is the longest gap between any Marvel movies. Superhero movies and comics are some of my favorite pieces of fiction. I love the powersets, the discussions of morality and camaraderie around found families. I especially love superheroes when they are at home or off-duty. Think Matt Fraction’s Hawkeye series or the party scene in Avengers: Age of Ultron.
So I am really excited to watch the upcoming WandaVision miniseries coming to Disney+ today! Set after the events of Avengers: Endgame, Wanda Maximoff, the Scarlet Witch, and Vision begin to suspect things are not as they seem with their ideal suburban life. If you want to catch up with the Marvel Cinematic Universe movies that cover Wanda and Vision’s relationship, start with Avengers: Age of Ultron, which acts as an introduction to both characters. Next, watch Captain America: Civil War. Civil War deals with the direct fallout from Age of Ultron and finds Wanda and Vision on opposing sides in a battle over oversight and accountability. Finally, watch Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame to see the Avengers go toe-to-toe with the Mad Titan Thanos as he attempts to collect all of the infinity stones including the mind stone—the source of Vision’s powers.
